A Podiatrist is a health professional who deals with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of medical, biomechanical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limb. Podiatry practice includes:
- Treatment of regular foot complaints – Heel pain, forefoot injuries, bunions, flat feet, knock knees, neuroma, shin splints and foot related back pain
- Sports Medicine Injuries and Gait Analysis
- Diabetes – and other high risk patients
- Arthritic feet
- Podopaediatrics – problems associated with the development of children’s feet
- Ingrown toe nails – either conservatively or surgically via the use of local anaesthetic
- Corns, calluses
