Payment at the time of consultation.
1.Private Patients: Payment is required at the time of each consultation. Patient’s with ancillary private health insurance can use the HICAPS system to claim on the spot for Physiotherapy. Some health funds also allow on the spot processing for Remedial Massage and Podiatry. Please phone 4975-1622 for current fees.
2. Work Cover or Third Party: Work Cover and third party claimants where liability has been accepted or the claim has been approved by the employer are billed to the appropriate source. On your first appointment written approval is required so that we can bill to the insurance company, however if you do not have written approval or a claim number the patient must pay for any treatment until we receive confirmation from the insurance company, we will however get you to complete a Patient Information sheet. This form needs to be completed and all sections signed.
3. Veteran’s Affairs: Veteran’s Affairs gold card clients need only to present their gold card for direct billing. White Card holders need approval before any consultation. Rathmines Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Centre can assist in the approval process.
4. MEDICARE- Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM): This scheme was previously referred to as The Enhanced Primary Care Plan or EPC. Physiotherapy and Podiatry clients who are on a Chronic Disease Management Plan pay for their consultations and may claim via the MyGov app or from the nearest Medicare Office. A receipt will be given for these appointments and can be taken to your nearest Medicare office. If bank details are lodged with Medicare Australia and payment is received at the time of consultation by debit card Medicare reimbursement can be completed on the spot.
Alternatively, we can process your Medicare claim here as long as you have your Medicare card, and a debit card. It is your responsibility to keep track of how many approved visits you have used. Please note that you are not able to claim more than 5 visits per calendar year, regardless of how many you have approved on your plan. More information can be found here:
Please Note: Due to increasing costs Rathmines Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic are not able to bulk bill for physiotherapy. Physiotherapy Medicare Consultations will be billed at the following rates (updated 14.8.23)
Initial Consultation: $90.00; Subsequent Consultations: $85.00; Rebate per Visit: $58.00
